On Trump Believe Your Eyes and Ears

trump

I’ve been waiting months to write this blog. But with less than two weeks before the election I can’t wait any longer.

My Washington State election ballot arrived in the mail a few days ago. And as it sits on my desk I still can’t tell you who I’m going to vote for President of the United States. I can tell you who I won’t be voting for. I won’t reward Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton with my vote in spite of the fact that I don’t like, and never have liked her Republican opponent, Donald Trump. To vote for Clinton is to vote for lawlessness and corruption. Trump is a lot of bad things. For the sake of argument, he’s a lot of good things too. But one thing he hasn’t proved to be is criminally corrupt. Clinton can’t say that.

Hillary zombies (i.e. supporters) will argue she hasn’t been charged with anything; to which I say “you really are naive, aren’t you?” If you don’t think powerful, and rich people can’t navigate through a few legal time bombs than you are fearfully in denial. Her husband was a two term President, and the most popular politician in the country with the possible exception of Barrack Obama. The Wikileaks daily email releases of the past month have shown Hillary to be two-faced, hateful of the average American, hateful of Catholics, disdainful of African-Americans, politically petty, and a bold-faced liar. All these are verifiable in her own writing or the writings of her closest Lieutenants. Clinton

My low impression of Clinton was cemented four years ago when she and Obama crafted the most obvious lie of the 2012 Presidential race. They both repeated claimed the Benghazi attacks were sparked by a little watched, little known, poorly produced YouTube video. They told this lie repeatedly to deflect responsibility for the planned terror attack, and their negligence in protecting the four brave Americans who were killed September 11th and 12th, 2012. They told this lie repeatedly for weeks…and then in spite of numerous incidence of making this false claim on camera both Obama and Clinton denied actually saying it. It’s as if they were telling the American people, “These are not the droids you’re looking for.'”.  And the American people bought it. And the media bought it including and especially CNN’s Candy Crowley who inappropriately and incorrectly shut down Mitt Romney’s attack on Obama in this matter during a live televised Presidential Debate.

Disappointingly the Republican electorate looked at 17 mostly well qualified Presidential candidates and ended up choosing Trump as their standard barer. Unfortunately its the huge number of candidates that made Trump’s victory possible. Had there been a more reasonable number like 8-10 people I don’t believe Trump would have come close to receiving the nomination.

But, he has the nomination in spite of unprecedented opposition from the mass media, Democrats, and fellow Republicans. I have to admit persevering in spite of such opposition is admirable. Never has a major party candidate faced such powerful opposition and been left standing. It’s as if Trump is everything he says he is, tough and smart.

He is also the most narcissistic individual most anyone has ever seen. But here is what most people don’t ever say or acknowledge…EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO HAS EVER RUN FOR PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES IS AN EGOTIST AND TO SOME DEGREE NARCISSISTIC. To run for the most powerful job in the world takes a lot of hubris. You must think well of yourself. You must think that God has placed you on this planet to lead all others. If you don’t feel that way, you have no business seeking the job. That’s where the hypocrisy of the left really bothers me about how they’ve condemned Trump. Clinton has been running for President for at least 25 years. Trump started 1 1/2 years ago. Were he running before then he never would have done or said so many of the outlandish things he said.

On the matter of the outlandish things he has said I have several thoughts.

First, he’s a New Yorker. If you’ve never had business dealings with New Yorker’s you may not understand. I have. Many times. New Yorker’s are unlike any regional group of people in the country. They are IN YOUR FACE. They’re curt. They’re blunt. They’re seemingly uncaring. And they care little about who they roll over if they have to in order to get something done. Obviously, this is a generalization. But I stand by it. I will also say, and a personal (as opposed to a business level) New Yorker’s are some of the collectively most passionate and compassionate people I have ever met. From what I’ve seen, heard, and read…this describes Trump.

Second, much of Trumps most outrageous comments have come when the cameras are rolling or the mic is hot. He made regular appearances on the Howard Stern show, where the host made himself famous by saying and provoking others to say incredible sexual things. In Trump’s case, “when in Rome…”. Trump was the star of his own TV show for years on NBC. Does anyone think NBC corporate is anything but a shill for Hillary Clinton and the hierarchy of the Democratic party? And yet, they employed Trump in his tv show for 11 years!

Thirdly, the audio and video tape that got Trump in the greatest hot water this election season was unearthed from NBC’s deep vault and featured Trump discussing with tv personality Billie Bush his attraction for beautiful women in the most vulgar terms imaginable. While I don’t talk like that I have to say the language wasn’t unimaginable. I’ve heard similar language about women many times from many men. Some were good men. But they spoke very crudely amongst other men when they trusted such conversations would never be heard or relayed to the public or at least any women. That’s what Trump thought at that time I’m sure. And for God sakes, how many who are reading this are aware the audio was edited before being made public. Similar vulgarities spoken by Bush were edited from what most of the public heard or read. Why would such editing occur? Well, obviously to make Trump stand alone as the one and only true PIG between the two individuals. It worked. Most people still haven’t heard Bush’s vulgar comments which encouraged Trump to continue such dialog.

The stench that emanates from Washington D.C. is palpable. And its inescapable without someone who is a tough and true outsider digging in to the sewage to discard it. For this reason above all others I have not eliminated the possibility of voting for Trump.

The other issue in which Trump stands tall for me is illegal immigration. Tough as his words have been they’ve also been frequently mischaracterized. Contrary to what’s become the popular myth, Trump did not call all Mexicans rapists and drug dealers and murderers. He did say Mexico was sending us their worst, their rapists, drug dealers, and murders and I suppose some of them are good people. Trump has correctly said repeatedly that no group is hurt more by illegal immigration than African-Americans. In a narrow sense he’s spot on. On a broader sense I would say no one is hurt more than poor or low-income people. Illegal immigrants are not taking the jobs of doctors, lawyers, CEO’s or well-educated college grads. They’re taking the jobs, the healthcare resources, the education resources, the feeding and housing resources of America’s most humble. And here’s something else that’s important. They broke the law. Once again, its important to point out that, like Trump, I am in this writing, generalizing. It’s perfectly OK to generalize provided you know that you are generalizing. So nobody needs to fire back at me with their examples of high earning, well-educated, honest and hard-working illegal immigrant. Please be adults and not children. And please be honest. There is too much dishonest, red herrings and nonsense in this political campaign.

Lastly, Trump has been in the public eye for over thirty years. He’s been a media darling. And he’s always been outlandish. But until this campaign against the corrupt Clinton Machine he has never been seen as racist, homophobic, misogynistic and less than fabulously wealthy. Believe your eyes. Look at the public Trump of 30 years. If you liked him before the campaign…you still should. He has had his reputation wildly tattered and has shown a love for this country I think is undeniable. But the Democrats have become very good with the game of misdirection, “These are not the droids you’re looking for”.

Hillary Clinton will win my state of Washington. Of this there is no doubt. So it really doesn’t matter who I vote for. So my vote will probably go toward my prayer for a miracle. As I posted a couple of weeks ago I hope neither Trump nor Clinton are ever President of the United States. Clinton is too corrupt. And Trump …well…he’s not knowledgable enough. Period. The only way my prayer could come true (short of the death of both candidates…which I’m not hoping for) is if Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson manages to split the votes in 2-3 states and win their electors with maybe 34-35% of the vote. He could do it in states like New Mexico where he was a two term Governor, Utah, Alaska and possibly Vermont. It won’t happen in Washington. But that is PROBABLY where my vote is going, and my prayer.

Obama’s Illegitimate Term

Listening to the news reports this morning of the weekly unemployment claims my mind flashed back to news that was not widely reported. Currently the federal unemployment stands at 7.0%. It’s the lowest it’s been in five years. release of December unemployment numbers tomorrow, January 10, are not expected to see that number change.

But how excited should we be about an unemployment rate of 7-percent; especially when considering that the federal report doesn’t include the high number of people who have dropped out of sight by no longer looking for work, the number of people under-employed, etc? Unemployment continues to be a drag on the economy, an economy that has been in the stewardship of Barack Obama for a full five years. Say what you will about what George W. Bush left Obama, there is simply no disputing this economy is his, and the Democrats as a whole.

But the economy seems to be improving, if only slightly. For that I am grateful.

But the little reported news story: The New York Post reported November 18th this headline, Census ‘faked’ 2012 election jobs report”The news came just prior to the start of the frenetic holiday season and was quickly gone from discussion. It also came as no news to people like myself who saw the sharp drop from 8.1% to 7.8% in September 2012 as false and manufactured. The number of jobs created during that month was only about 150,000 (memory, haven’t verified) which is not nearly enough jobs created to create a 0.3% drop in the unemployment rate. Most economists say 200k-250k jobs need to be created just for the unemployment rate to remain stable.

So now we know how President Obama won re-election in spite of one of the least distinguished Presidency’s in American history, he used the power of government repeatedly to steal the election.

Since his convincing victory over Republican Challenger Mitt Romney lets examine what we’ve learned:

1. Obama’s government falsely reported unemployment numbers just prior to the election to create the illusion that economic improvement was better than anyone believed it to be.

2. The IRS under the guidance of a Democratic partisan held up non-profit status for “Tea Party” or “Conservative” organizations beginning in 2010 and continuing past the November 2012 Presidential election. In hold up the non-profit 501c-4 status of these many organizations the Obama Administration severely hampered Republican leaning organizations from raising millions of dollars necessary to compete against an incumbent president and entrenched Democratic Senate.

3. The Obama Administration, including the President himself, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice lied about the nature of the 9-11 Benghazi, Libya terrorist attacks. The each repeatedly blamed a anti-Muslim YouTube video for sparking a murderous crowd to attack the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi (user mortars) killing four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens. Stevens was the first American Ambassador to any country to be killed on duty since 1979. Blaming the video allowed Obama and Vice PResident Joe Biden to continually falsely claim that Al Qaeda was on the run, and Obama could take credit for having vanquished the international terrorist organization.

These three facts along with other actions by the Administration, for which our primarily liberal media has yet to discover, are responsible for misleading the American electorate into believing things were not as bad as they seemed. And they’re responsible for partially muzzling the very voice who would stand up to the Obama Machine and point these facts out. And to think, Nixon resigned in the face of impeachment for lying about his knowledge of a coverup of a break-in at Democratic Party headquarters in the Watergate Hotel. A break-in he likely knew nothing about, in advance.

IRS + Benghazi + AP Phone Records = Abuse of Power

English: Barack Obama delivers a speech at the...

Having worked in the press corps and associated with so many fellow reporters it gives me no pleasure at all to tell you that many of them are not the brightest bulbs on the Christmas tree.

I start my blog with this, somewhat obvious, statement because for all the hullabaloo surrounding the White House lately and their evident abuse of power the one question I’m waiting to have answered has not even been asked yet. And that fact alone should convince any reasonable person to be concerned for the intelligence of our fourth estate. Who originated the idea of blaming an anti-Islamic YouTube video for the terrorist attacks in Benghazi, Libya last September 11? To me the fact that eight months have passed without that question being asked, let alone answered points to a complicity at the highest levels of the Obama Administration.

Here’s what we know now about Benghazi.

1) The President, Secretary of State Clinton, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney,

English: Jay Carney giving a press briefing.

Jay Carney

and UN Ambassador Susan Rice lied, repeatedly, about the nature of the attack for up to two weeks after its occurrence.

Official portrait of Secretary of State Hillar...

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

2) We know the President, Carney and Hillary lied about the reason for the lie. Blaming talking points they said were crafted by officials of the intelligence community. We now know that State Department and White House “leadership” were instrumental in shaping the ultimate talking-points that proved to be a lie.

3) We know the State Department, headed by Clinton, ignored repeated requests for better security at the Benghazi consulate.

4) We know four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens, were killed in the pre-planned attack which had nothing to do with any video.

5) We know President Obama was involved in a tight re-election bid and that his campaigns over-riding theme was that Bin Laden was dead and Al Qaeda was on the run (only they weren’t). And we know Mitt Romney’s failure to press Obama on the Benghazi issue made him look weak and allowed Obama the high ground; especially after CNN’s Candy Crowley’s

CNN Senior Political Correspondent Candy Crowl...

unprecedented intrusion into their Presidential debate in favor of Obama in a statement that ultimately proved untrue.

6) And we know that State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland wrote in a private email that “building leadership” (State Department building) was not satisfied with the talking points on Benghazi. Who was the building’s “leadership”? That would be Hillary Clinton, the Secretary of State. Who was Nuland’s immediate boss? Uh..huh…

What we don’t know is who originally fabricated the lie that in large part rescued Obama’s campaign and went a long way toward assuring his re-election. But connecting the dots doesn’t make it difficult to draw a line straight to Hillary Clinton, and then from her straight to Obama himself. Perhaps someone will connect the dots now that increased scrutiny is being focused on the apparent abuse of power by the Obama Administration.

The revelation last week that the powerful IRS focused much tougher scrutiny on Conservative or Tea Party groups seeking non-profit status only confirms what individuals in this group have been saying for more than two years. According to an article in USA Today yesterday a Tea Party group had its application approved 90 days from submission in February 2010 and that no other Tea Party group would get their tax-exempt status approved for 27 months.

Early reports of this story following IRS Director of Exempt Organizations Lois Lerner said the abuse of the Conservative groups was limited to 2012 and was limited to lower level employees in a IRS field office in Cincinnati, Ohio (Yes…THAT Ohio. The state that singlehandedly decided the 2004 Presidential election and the state that was expected to again be a deciding swing state in the 2012 campaign). Only what Lerner and media reports didn’t tell us was that the blocking of Conservative groups tax-exempt status began in 2010 and that the Cincinnati IRS office was the sole location where such applications were directed from all across the country. In other words, there was a nationwide abuse of power over right-leaning organizations that seriously hampered their fund-raising capabilities through two elections. Or do you not believe that individuals and corporations are more likely to give money to an organization if it’s a registered non-profit and such donation is tax deductible? The answer is obvious. And money wins elections. And through this conspiracy money-raising efforts by those who would oppose Obama and Democratic ideals were seriously hampered.

But the abuse of power doesn’t stop there. In another unprecedented act of power, or abuse thereof, the Obama Justice Department subpoenaed the phone records from 20 different phone lines used by Associated Press reporters in April and May of 2012. AP President and CEO Gary Pruit said,  “There can be no possible justification for such an over broad collection of the telephone communications of The Associated Press and its reporters. These records potentially reveal communications with confidential sources across all of the newsgathering activities undertaken by the AP during a two-month period, provide a road map to AP’s newsgathering operations and disclose information about AP’s activities and operations that the government has no conceivable right to know,”. Democrats please note: this is not some right-wing GOP operative slamming the Obama DOJ. THIS IS THE ASSOCIATED PRESS!

Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday that he had recused himself from the subpoena process in the AP case. He then revealed in testimony Wednesday before a House committee that no such recusal exists, at least, not in writing. This is the head law-enforcement officer in the country admitting he didn’t keep a written record of his involvement in a leak investigation that he called the worst he’d been witness to in his career. Really? So it’s a big case with big unprecedented decisions being made and our Attorney General felt no need to have record of his recusal. Am I alone in finding no credibility in this statement?

We’ve seen this all before. Forty years ago a second-rate burglary, initially ignored by all the national press, grew into a story of abuse of power by a President and his Administration that was wide-spread and involved many different angles, stories, and victims. When the White House finally released about 100 pages of emails over the Benghazi matter yesterday it was only a small gesture. Because there are more, a lot more. Anyway…it reminded me of Nixon releasing SOME of the tapes.

Shocking Benghazi Revelations: Gregory Hicks Full Testimony 5-8-2013 – YouTube

via Shocking Benghazi Revelations: Gregory Hicks Full Testimony 5-8-2013 – YouTube.

I was absolutely shocked in the days following the September 11, 2012 attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, Libya at how the mass media let President Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Obama’s UN Ambassador Susan Rice lie and lie repeatedly about what happened in the killing of 4 Americans including the murder of an American Ambassador. The first U.S. Ambassador killed in 30 years.

I continue to find it remarkable that ABC, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, CBS, the New York Times, the Washington Post, NPR and most other major news organizations have let the Obama liars get away with it.

Mitt Romney blew the election by not hammering this subject more. And we all suffer because of his weakness.

But ultimately the truth will out. As seen in this courageous testimony by State Department official Greg Hicks, people will begin to speak. They’ll have to. And the cover up administered by President Obama himself will be revealed. It was despicable and shameful to make up this vulgar story that the Libyan terrorist attack on the anniversary of 911 was a spontaneous demonstration spurred by an anti-Islamic video.

If you are not an Obama apologist and contrary to Hillary Clinton’s opinion think this DOES matter, then spread the word. Share this blog and this video all over the internet.

1 Week to go. Here’s What I Expect.

Barack Obama rode an incredible wave of celebrity adoration into the White House in 2008 and while its clear to many of us that he has proven himself unworthy to lead this country further he still remains a celebrity with a “can do no wrong” label stuck on him by his many devoted fans. I think of Lindsay Lohan’s continuing celebrity in spite of repeated brushes with the law. I think of Britney Spears shaving her head, possibly neglecting or mistreating her kids, and her drug and alcohol failings. And I think of Mel Gibson simply losing his mind. Like all of these “celebrities” Obama has proven undeserving of our total and unquestioning affection. Given yet another chance could he rebound ala Robert Downey Jr. and resurrect his image? My guess is No. But his “fans” think yes. And to me, that’s the saddest part of this story. He doesn’t so-much have followers, he has “fans” which is short for “fanatics”. I don’t want a President whose a celebrity. I want a leader.

I have never been enamored with celebrity. And I’ve absolutely NEVER understood celebrity worship. These feelings and sense that they’re not much different from you and me precedes the era in my life when I was constantly in front of nationally known and revered celebrities. As a reporter in the late 80s and early 90s I had my share of celebrity exposure. Having married the daughter of a very prominent Washington State politician and Washington Husky football star I came across even more. All this exposure did was confirm my lifetime sense that these individuals are seldom worthy of the “worship” Obama has been the recipient of.

So what’s going to happen next week? Let’s start with what’s simple before we get into the more complicated.

270 Electoral Votes are needed by either candidate in order to secure the Presidency.

Senator John McCain carried 21 states against Obama in 2008. Not one of those states will go for Obama this time around. Due to census re-apportionment those states now carry 180 electoral votes.

Obama barely took Indiana in 2008. He won’t this time. Polls clearly show Indian’s 2010 strong shift to the right was not a fluke. Indiana’s 11 votes will be Romney’s. Romney’s electoral total- 191.

So-called swing states Virginia and North Carolina also went strongly Tea Party and strongly Republican in 2010 and the latest polls show Romney with a narrow lead in each. Romney get’s them. They’re worth 28 electoral votes. Romney’s electoral total- 219.

Florida is also a swing state but recent polls going back more than one month have consistently shown Romney in the lead. Florida went for Bush in 2000 and 2004. It’ll add to Romney’s total. 29 more. Romney’s electoral total- 248

With all these East Coast state’s (Virginia, Florida, North Carolina et al) falling to Romney and closing polls while state’s further west remain open to voting, that will have an undeniable benefit for Romney. And he’ll need it because of the remaining eight swing states Obama narrowly leads or is tied in the polls in 7 of them. Colorado and its 9 electoral votes is the only one I’m really confident putting in the Romney column. Romney’s electoral total- 257.

The remaining state’s in play are Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, New Hampshire, and Nevada. Nevada went for Bush in 2000 and 2004. I’m confident the many Mormons in Nevada as well as the momentum from East Coast voting will push Nevada into the Romney column. That’s six more. Romney’s electoral total- 263.

That leaves five midwestern states plus New Hampshire to determine the Presidency of the United States. They total 74 Electoral Votes. Pennsylvania and Michigan have each voted for the Democrat in 2000, 2004, and 2008. It’s really incredible that they are in play at all. But barring something unforeseen I predict they’ll be in the Obama column (though if Romney gets either it’s over. Romney wins).

Wisconsin also voted Democrat in 2000, 2004, and 2008. But the cheese-heads also elected a Republican Governor and legislature in 2010 and then re-elected the Governor in an even more lopsided re-call vote last year. And THEN Wisconsin’s Paul Ryan was named Mitt Romney’s running mate. Polls show Obama leading but Romney within the margin of error. Of the four remaining states in question (New Hampshire, Iowa, Ohio and Wisconsin) the Badger State is the one most likely to go for Romney. I think they will. Romney wins. Romney’s electoral vote count- 273.

Iowa and New Hampshire have gone Democrat 2 of the last 3 Presidential Elections and polls very narrowly favor Obama in each. Ohio has gone Republican in 2 of the last 3 elections. And Obama only won it with 52% of the vote in 2008. Political pundit and former Bill Clinton election Master-mind Dick Morris is strongly asserting Ohio will go for Romney. But if I’m right, that will just be icing on the cake.

Romney’s win will have a positive influence out West where last-minute voters will help elect Rob McKenna to the Washington Governor’s post, becoming the first Republican in more than 30 years to lead our state. McKenna got 59% of the vote in 2008 when he was re-elected Attorney General. And since his destruction of Jay Inslee in the Gubernatorial debates he will slide home safely with this election too.

What I really believe is that something is yet to happen that will decide this race for the Presidency. I believe the eight swing state’s are so close that some news event, some revelation, or some major gaffe will bring victory or defeat to Romney or Obama. I definitely think more is going to come out about Benghazi. I would not be surprised in the least if Obama conducts a military strike in Libya with the claim of securing justice for the murderous perpetrators of the attacks in Benghazi. Perhaps hurricane Sandy will be so devastating as to cast an incredible shadow over Obama. If there are other October surprises out there I don’t know. But that’s why they’re called surprises.

So how did Obama and Clinton handle THEIR “3AM Call”?

In a 2008 Democratic Primary commercial for and by the Hillary Clinton campaign the Presidential candidate asked the rhetorical question “Who do you want in the White House when THAT 3AM call comes in and something is wrong in the world?”. The implication being her main competitor Illinois Senator Barack Obama hadn’t shown himself capable of handling such a crisis.

As is pointed out in the following article President Obama got THAT call on September 11, 2012. His response was to do nothing, and then lie about it. Is that what you want remaining in the White House the next four years?

Would Mitt Romney do better? Well, he could hardly do worse.
