We Need More Racists for the Good of our Country

Dictionary Definition of Racist

It’s happened again. 😦

I’ve once again been called a racist. The person writing this hateful charge doesn’t know me, and we have never met. But he took exception to my opposition to the bias headlines of a news story that I felt demonstrated a clear one-sided explanation of a story/dispute. What the story is and the content of my comments are unimportant. I stand by them. They were made publicly on Facebook and Liked or Loved by a huge majority of the hundreds of those reacting to what I wrote.

Usually when this false charge of racism is directed at me I never defend myself by enunciating my life’s deeds or accomplishments. I feel to do so is akin to a true racist responding (as so many do) by saying, “I have lots of black friends”; a claim that is frequently sad and weak and doesn’t excuse a racist’s words or deeds.

But with our nation so politically divided and with claims of racism being thrown about at every little hostility or disagreement I think it might be instructive for all to see and read what this “racist” looks like (rhetorically speaking). If I’m a racist, I pray for our nation’s future that we have more and more racists going forward.

To see an interracial couple today, in 2018, is neither rare nor upsetting to most people. It’s common. And it’s properly accepted. But, in 1985 when I became engaged to a black woman and still in 1987 when we were wedded it was still rare and it was still looked-down upon by many; including my father and others in my family. But in spite of its rarity and the ignorant condemnation we received I married a black woman and remained mostly happily married to the mother of my three black children for 28 years. We lived together for 30 years.

During my first marriage I was fully involved with and accepted by my ex-wife’s immediate and extended family. In fact its true to say my black family was more involved in my and my children’s lives than my white family. We holiday’d together. We travelled together. We laughed and cried together. And sometimes we argued. In other words, we were a pretty typical family. Were it not for my ex’s severe personal failings we’d probably still be married today and I wouldn’t have divorced her. (BTW- these personal failings are sadly common among couples regardless of race. Duh!)

I love them all.

Though half their lineage is white (Caucasian if you prefer) my 3 adult children identify as black. I was always present in their lives. Coached them on various sports teams. Provided a stable home. Loved them, and tried to be the best dad I could be. I’m proud to say I taught them much and imposed strict discipline when necessary. One thing I didn’t and couldn’t teach them was how to be black in America. Individually I told them all this at times when their maturity called for it. I told them that racism still exists in our country, that it’s awful, and that to some degree it will always exist. But I also taught them there is no reason it should ever hold you back. I taught them it’s an obstacle that needs to be overcome and often ignored. The fact that its an obstacle that I never faced was immaterial to their lives. For the wise person understands that we all face different obstacles and we all must overcome our own obstacles in order to progress, be productive and be happy.

Recently I remarried a wonderful, smart, beautiful woman. Incidental to all her wonderful qualities is the fact that she is Mexican. She and her whole family were born in Mexico. While a naturalized United States citizen she remains proudly and defiantly Mexican. And I love her so very much.

In the nearly 4 years since we first met I’ve gained a lot of learning and respect about and for Hispanic people; their traditions, their nature. It’s been quite educational. It hasn’t change my view about illegal immigration, which I oppose. I support President Trump’s efforts to stem the flow of illegal immigration and to deport most violators. My wife has a different point of view on this subject. We don’t talk about this subject….anymore.

This may shock some but in my nearly four years of knowing my wife and her family and friends I have seen more racism and bigotry directed at her and other Hispanics than I ever saw in over 30 years with previous black family, ex-wife, and children. If you think skin color is a trigger for hatred; just watch the reaction to a group of Hispanics speaking Spanish amongst white or black strangers in a public setting. It’s like a magnet for their condemning eyes. And it is sad.

Nearly 5 years ago I met a pretty black woman at a business networking event. My marriage was dissolving and I wanted to get to know her. This was before I met my current wife. Though no romantic relationship ever developed, I learned of the charity for which she worked, became involved, and for three years have served on its Board of Directors. While not specifically targeting blacks or minorities with the food service it provides, black and other minorities are the primary beneficiaries of our service work. African-Americans also make up the largest majority of this organizations workers, donors, and volunteers. It’s a 30-year-old organization that is the 2nd Largest food-distributorship to needy in the state of Washington.

I could go on and on. But what I’ve written are just some of the highlights of a life that is dominated by being-with, loving, serving and living with blacks and now other minorities. So, I’m a racist? Well, being self-confident and proud I would say…I want more of me out there.

President Trump is a racist too, or haven’t you read that? He presides over an economy with the lowest recorded black unemployment and hispanic unemployment ever recorded. And he touts that fact at nearly every opportunity. As everyone knows He was the star of The Apprentice which aired for 15 years on easily the most Liberal television network, NBC. Trump received recognition and awards from many black leaders like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. He was in the public eye most of the past 40 years. And prior to choosing to run for President no one called him a racist.

I didn’t support Trump in the GOP Primaries in 2016. Out of the 16 legitimate Republican Presidential candidates that ran in 2016 he was probably my 13th favorite. I didn’t vote for him in the Primary in my state. I never posted support for him in my social media activity. I wasn’t a supporter. I am now.

Of course, if you watch CNN or MSNBC frequently you now know that those who support our President are all racists too. Known proudly as “Deplorables”, so named by Hillary Clinton, we are all said to be hateful and intolerant of blacks and other minorities. And according to the Left we hate immigrants…particularly those with brown skin.

The facts that are lost in all this name-calling by the Left is that these “Deplorables” on average attend church more frequently than do Trump’s opposition and give a higher percentage of their incomes to charity. With both sides lamenting the destruction of families and of family values in our country…based on these FACTS all I can say is we need more Deplorables. We need more racists.

Clarification: For those too moronic or hateful to understand that the title and repeated theme of this blog is intentionally provocative and sarcastic, I feel sorry for you. Yes, this author hates and condemns true racism. It’s an ignorant scourge on people and our society in general. True racism needs to be condemned whenever it rears its ugly face. Additionally, the common and repeated and false charges of racism that we all see and hear today I condemn equally. In most cases its leveled by ignorant people who simply don’t understand another person’s thoughts and actions. But when wielded by powerful elected officials it is simply evil. It’s presumed such people are intelligent enough to know what true racism is. So their use of such a charge on the President and so many others in this country must be interpreted as merely selfish acts designed to hurt their political opponents and to divide the people of this country. It’s working. And it needs to be stopped. All who agree with this post need to Share it.

For evil to succeed, all it needs is for good men to do nothing.

Democrats Scream RACISM! So What Else is New?

Mitt Romney - Caricature

Mitt Romney – Caricature

Republican Presidential nominee Mitt Romney is a former Governor in perhaps the most liberal state in the nation, Massachusetts. He’s also a former Pastor and long time volunteer in his church. He quit his highly lucrative position at a company he helped found, Bain Capital, in order to work for free, no salary, for the Salt Lake City Olympics. He did likewise as Massachusetts Governor. He took no salary. Mitt Romney also gave away all of his substantial inheritance following the death of his father; making Brigham Young University the recipient and establishing the George W. Romney Institute of Public Management.

In addition to all these and many more acts of kindness, generosity, and philanthropy Mitt Romney is also a racist! And he’s responsible for the death, some would say murder, of a woman in Missouri in 2006. Or so Democrats would have you believe.

The Democratic National Convention convenes today in North Carolina and leading into it was word from the blog-ous-fere that Mitt Romney has adopted a 1920s Ku Klux Klan slogan for his Presidential campaign slogan. They say Romney has on a couple of occasions uttered the words “Keep America American“, and that the phrase can be traced by at least two sources back to KKK recruiting material from the 1920s, and continually used up until 1950.

My first question is how does uttering ANY phrase “a couple of times” constitute adopting a slogan? The simple answer is it doesn’t. Romney’s campaign slogan adopted in April 2011 and used to this day is “Believe in America”. Furthermore, as pointed out in this snopes.com report

Romney has on a couple of occasions said “Keep America America”, not the KKK phrase.

The murder of the Missouri woman claim stems from a Pro-Obama television campaign ad that shows a hard-core democratic radical who’s manufacturing plant  was closed down by Bain Capital in approximately 2003, after Romney had left Bain. The closing of the plant caused the man to lose his health care coverage. His wife had cancer and died. Of course THAT would be Romney’s fault, according to Democrats. Well, as absurd as that conclusion is based on the commercials claims and inferences it gets worse when the facts are actually injected into this fairy tale. The woman actually HAD health insurance coverage through her own employment. She wasn’t diagnosed with cancer until 2004, after the closing of the plant. And she didn’t pass-away until 2006. And yet, Democrats felt comfortable inferring that Romney caused her death.

The silly season is no longer silly. It unbelievably stupid!

Jimmy the Idiot Boy

A Democratic idiot

Those who would seem to think a racist and a murderer could reside inside the same body as the man who’s documented and demonstrated acts of generosity exceed any Presidential candidate you’ve ever heard of in your lifetime have to remove their imbecile hats and return to Cluelessville.

Is it too much to ask for Democrats to quit believing that Republicans are so completely hateful? Considering at least half the nation is Republican or Conservative I have to wonder how such so-called human beings can function. Think about it Democrats, depending on where you live in this great country a minimum of 1-in-3 people you encounter are Republican or Conservative in their politics. Were they as hateful and evil as you and your party portray why is it that you don’t deliver a well-deserved karate chop to the larynx of every other person you pass on the street? How do you leave your house? Clearly if you are surrounded by such evil haters you would be fully justified in barricading yourself in a fortified home encircled by a moat and 20 foot smooth cement walls.

This is the crux of Democrat’s arguments. Republicans are not only wrong, they’re evil. And this is what we will hear coming out of North Carolina. We can thank our President Barack Obama for this hate filled rhetoric.

DOWNFALL OF THE "COMMUNITY ORGANIZER"

Save your breath Libs. I already know your retort to this blog. “Well, Republicans do the same thing!” First of all, no they don’t. No credible Republican or Republican campaign advertisement has now or in 2008 discussed the extremist views on Obama, the birther crap or socialist/communist conspiracy nonsense. Second, can we agree that accusing someone of organized racism and murder are quite worse than saying he’s being disingenuous about his place of birth and that his far-left liberal philosophy is in-fact socialist? I would hope the 2nd point would be inarguable. But then again, Democrats made the allegations; there’s no telling just how stupid they really are.

And Democrats need not take their insult out on me with angry words. I’d be much more impressed if you simply told all those who believe as you that such hateful, divisive claims of racism and evil were not worthy of the party of Kennedy, Truman, FDR, and Jefferson.

Trayvon Martin’s Killer Should be Punished, Right?

Let me start out this blog by making perfectly clear I think the killer of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin should be criminally charged and face prosecution for the death of the Florida youth. I have no desire to put my head in the lions mouth on this subject. Clearly the mob  …errrr…people have made clear their hope for justice in this case.

When I first heard about this I was as concerned as anyone. Imagine a man following a small skinny kid home in a rich neighborhood confronting him and shooting him for no reason, no reason whatsoever. Sounds pretty unbelievable doesn’t it? Well, as I said I just hope that the killer gets what’s coming to him.

It wasn’t until later that I learned that the killer George Zimmerman was an ethnic minority too, just like poor innocent, young Trayvon. Still…Zimmerman should be in jail.

The fact that Zimmerman was selflessly patrolling the streets of his neighborhood as a community neighborhood watchman is unimportant. He clearly is a racist for shooting harmless little Trayvon. And when I learned that there had been numerous home burglaries in this gated community where Trayvon was shot, I thought, well that explains the need for a neighborhood watch. But it doesn’t explain shooting a poor innocent child who has never, ever done anything wrong.

Why would Zimmerman follow this kid who was innocently walking home from the local grocery wearing a hoody, concealing his appearance? It was his neighborhood, wasn’t it? So I thought. Turns out Martin was not known in the neighborhood. He was staying at his a relatives while he served out a 10 day suspension from his high school for drug possession. Still, to shoot him? And the fact that following someone, anyone, is not actually against the law shouldn’t be considered. I still think the racist Zimmerman needs to hang.

And though the media is clearly trying to steer the emotions of the story by repeatedly showing pictures of a much younger Trayvon, with skinny little arms who couldn’t hurt anyone rather than the older, muscular, tattooed Trayvon doesn’t change the fact that Zimmerman hunted down this kid because he was black and killed him. Zimmerman needs to fry!

When police showed up at the scene of the murder February 26th they found a bloodied Zimmerman. He had blood coming from his nose, where he says Martin punched him. And he had blood on the back of his head from Martin slamming his head against the concrete. As CNN reported the fact that Zimmerman wasn’t even following poor Trayvon at the time of the confrontation doesn’t change the fact that Zimmerman hatefully and wrongfully shot Martin for no reason at all other than he’s black.

Zimmerman told police he was following Martin because Martin looked suspicious, but that Martin ran from him and got away. He says he didn’t know where Martin was when he was walking back to his car. He says at that time Martin emerged, approached Zimmerman and confronted him asking “You got a problem?”, to which Zimmerman said “No”. Then according to this evil racist killer Martin said, “You do now” and punched Zimmerman in the nose, knocking Zimmerman to the ground where poor innocent Trayvon pounced on him and continued hitting him and pounding his head into the concrete. Zimmerman claims to have called out for help, something audio witnesses claim to be true. Still, Trayvon is dead and there is no good reason for it.

According to the CNN report police in Sanford, Florida wanted Zimmerman charged with Manslaughter, not murder. Manslaughter, for shooting an innocent 17-year-old old boy who did nothing wrong but jump and beat up a guy who was following him in a neighborhood where he didn’t live and where there had been recent criminal activity.

Like I said. There is no justice. Zimmerman must be a racist. How could he not be. He shot poor little, innocent Trayvon. I think he should go to jail.

Racism and Obama. For better or worse?

“My prayer is that Obama’s soaring rhetorical skills truly inspire Americans toward the better angels in our nature. And that the symbolism of a black man in the highest office in the land ends forever what little racism still exists, or the claims that racism is the cause of victimization of the African-American community in this country.”

ME

Official photographic portrait of US President...

Our President: Barrack Obama.

I wrote those words three years ago in a blog called “The New President” in which I made what I thought was an obvious statement that our nation could no longer be looked upon by its toughest inner critics as a racist nation. In the article I wrote that no predominantly white nation in world history had ever elected a person of color as their head, their president, their leader. In writing that blog the day after Barrack Obama‘s election to the most powerful office in the world I was complimentary and optimistic. Pointing out, perhaps naively, that Obama would be judged as were the 43 white men who preceded him in the office; by his accomplishments and not by the color of his skin.

It seems I may have been wrong. I’m beginning to think it’s entirely possible that Obama could be the ignition to a worsening of race relations in this country. How bad could it get? Let me put it this way: I’m fearful. I am fearful that Obama’s defeat in 11 months will be blamed on racism rather than on his failed leadership, and policies.

Yesterday a friend with whom I have profound political disagreements posted an article onto Facebook that she referred to as “the truth”. The article was called “Racism and President Obama”. In the first sentence the author, who calls themselves Jueseppi B., alleges that the United States became the model for a racist nation the day Obama was sworn in.

Though I provide a link to the article in this blog I don’t recommend reading it. It’s nothing but an idiotic racist rant. By someone in love with government hand outs and jobs all around, apparently for all his African-American friends. Unfortunately his view is increasingly common. It’s a common tactic by the political black community to scream racism every time something goes wrong for one of their own. It’s silly and lacks imagination and intelligence to presume that a nation is a model of racism when it’s population is made up of 12.6% blacks and that same nation has a black leader.

Racism still does exist in this country and its repugnant. Sadly these imbeciles who harbor such hateful views far too often reside on the right or conservative side of the political spectrum. And far too often Americans with better hearts and minds fail to loudly condemn the bigotry that is quite often directed at our President. And the problem with these facts is that you give aid and comfort to the black racists who paint all white people with the same broad brush.

This used to be a racist country. And in fairness to those who still look for it, institutional, government sanctioned racism existed during the lifetimes of most African-Americans or their parents. Thank God, and some very strong people, it does not any more.

But speaking as a white person with no racism or love of Obama I am fed up with racism being thrown out as a reason for opposing our President, or for opposing the type of governmentprograms that create an entitlement mentality and diminish personal fortitude and commitment. It’s and old song that needs to change. What is sad is that, like the boy who cried wolf, every time racism is falsely cited as the cause for a black persons failure white Americans are hardened against such claims in the future including the legitimate ones. And that’s wrong.

English: This is the long form birth certifica...

Oabama's long form birth certificate

ALL Americans should have soundly condemned the “Birther” movement against Obama and the subtle racism that was not-so-hidden in the claims that the President wasn’t born here. ALL Americans should condemn the Photoshop images of Obama made to look like some tribal medicine man. Avoid posting them on social media or waving them at demonstrations. If you can’t see the racism in such images YOU really are a bigot or an insensitive jerk.

Lastly accept that jerks like I just described DO exist and probably always will. Just like the racist Pastor Jeremiah Wright, there are always extremes on every side of an issue. But quit calling our nation and by implication all Conservative white people racist. It doesn’t help your cause.
